After having a great fashion show with her children collection, Kristine Vikse showed her collection November Songs, Wednesday at Oslo Fashion Week.

Kristine Vikse is famous for her knits, and this year was no exception. The collection is called November Songs, and the name and the actual collection gives a feeling of a cold, but beautiful winter landscape – with a hint of Norwegian tradition. The designer is inspired by the 70’s this season, but also with some inspiration from the Nordic Nomad. As a result from this mix the collection looks comfortable but also luxurious with fabrics like merino wool, cashmere, silk and cotton. In addition to inspiration from the 70s, Vikse got many ideas from the glamour, but also the working style from the 40′s, and especially from Katharine Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman.

As I mentioned earlier, Vikse uses a lot of knits in her collection November Songs. She used wool, and different wool-mixes, in cardigans, dresses, coats, sweaters and pants. Some of the garments like some of the oversized sweaters had a heavy knit texture, while other garments had a finer knit texture. Though Vikse uses a lot of knit in her collection, she had also made some beautiful silk dresses and blouses, and the beige silk kaftan looked gorgeous and luxurious.

The collection is very versatile, and the colors are easy to mach with other garments in the collection. Vikse used the inspiration from the natural colors for fall, with colors like rust-red, olive and moss greens, different burned earth tones, tones of blue and mahogany – not to forget the basic color black. Some of the sweaters and cardigans in the collection were knitted with traditional Norwegians knit-patterns, but they were styled with silk dresses and blouses which gave a more modern look to it.

The designer also has some great silhouettes in her collection with tight cigarette pants in black and blue, and jeans in denim blue color. Not to forget the olive-colored suede leather jacket, that were styled with a beige silk blouse and knitted stockings. All in all Kristine Vikse has a fine collection with lots of different styles and garments, and she made the difficult task to design clothes both comfortable and great to look at.
