Memini by Kristine Vikse
A norwegian artist sings the beloved verse “Det snør, det snør, tiddelibom.”(”It snows, it snows, tiddelibom.”) – and it actually starts to snow! Kristine Vikse presented her fall 2012 collection for kids, Memini by Kristine Vikse, and it is safe to say that the models were the cutest at this years fashion week.

Kristine Vikse is inspired by nordic nostalgia, childhood memories and the Nordic children’s literature heritage –
especially Astrid Lindgren and the fairytales by Asbjørnsen and Moe. Kristine says that her designs lets children be children, and the outfits are supposed to be easy to wear and to play in.
Typical for the designer’s style are silhouettes and expressions in different knitted materials. She uses a special fiber-mix called “woolba”, wich is a mix of merino wool and viscose bamboo.
The runway is covered with snow balls and as the music starts to play, it begins to snow. Cute children in age from just a few months old to ten
years, enters the stage in different outfits. The designer uses a lot of soft and warm colors like pink, blue, beige and white. Which gives a romantic feeling to the collection, and also memories of
ones own childhood.
It is a collection with great variety with many different garments. Vikse made various jackets and hats in addition to different suits, dresses and more casual wear. The collection gives a sense of nostalgia and it really feels like we are in an Astrid Lindgren movie when the boys are wearing dungarees and six-pence and the girls are wearing cute little dresses. The designer has designed different jacket styles like raincoats, outer coats and parkas with fleece-lining and down filling.
