Hi Fashion lovers.
Wednesday May 2th Vatle showed their AW 2012 collection at Tilt Bar in Oslo. Vatle is a brave innovative brand that dares to try new materials, colors and volumes. My personal favorites must be the cute out tights the use of colors and bold makeup.
A big thanks to the fantastic photographer Hilde Kvivik Kavli for letting us use her beautiful pictures. You can see more of talent here.

“Take Four” by Christina Ledang
Hi Fashion lovers. Tuesday evening the stylist and designer Christina Ledang showed her fourth collection “Take four” at White Room in Oslo. Ledang is known for her use of rubber, and this collection was no exception. Key points for this show were rubber used in an innovative way, it was used on anything from high waisted knee long skirts with zippers in the back to color popping pieces like clutches. The silhouettes were quite straight with the exception of some looks that highlighted an hourglass feminine shape.
As part of the event there was also an exhibition with look book picture that underlined her artistic expression. The styling was trash inspired, with greasy messy hair, matte skin and it had an almost supernatural feel to it.
I have to say I was very impressed with both the pieces and the hole setting of the show, it´s not everyday I get to be “wowed” and suprised by a norwegian designer. So Thank you Christina
More of that please!

“Me and my sewing machine..”
Hi Fashion Lovers.
Saturday evening I was invited to Janomes yearly seminar at Comfort Hotel Runway at Gardemoen. Janome is the world largest sewing machine company and a sewing machine is one of the most important tools for a fashion designer, the link between Janome and fashion is quite obvious.
Janome has collaborated with ESMOD fashion school, Project Runway Norway and other Norwegian fashion labels like: Vatle, TSH, Undorn, Haaning & Htoon. These four labels participated in the fashion show as part of the dinner entertainment this evening.
Jon Magne Soløy, the managing director of Janome Norway, told me that is important for the company to contribute to the joy of creatity, and that’s why they have collaborated with fashion labels and other fashion related events such as “Nåløyet”.
The always glamorous Marianne Jemtegård was the master ceremonies trough out the evening in sequence dress by TSH. Earlier in the week she also held a trend seminar for the participant as part for the conference. The goal of the seminar is to both inspire the dealers be more fashion forward, learn about new technics and sewing machines.
The always funny and parody-on-the-gays-in-fashion, the character “Tommy life” had made a special song called : “Me and my sewing machine” that he performed.

The best part of this night was meeting all the really nice people working for Janome, it seems like a nice place to work. Special thanks to Sven, Bjørn, Lars and Bjørnar, you made the my day

Backstage Samsøe & Samsøe AW 12/13 – Day 6
Hello Fashion Lovers.
So the last day of OFW is here, and what a great week it has been…
Samsøe & Samsøe only showed at OFW this season at Stratos. The show is divided into two the parts: the female collection”Transitions” and the male collection “Neo legacy.” This time they also showed shoes. The makeup and hair were really casual. The makeup was almost invisiable and the hair effortless.
What I think Samsøe & Samsøe does best is the really nice basic everyday pieces that most people want in there wardrobe.

Thank you Annikken Vear for given me this opportunity, it’s been great fun

Backstage Moods of Norway AW 12/13 – Day 5
Hello Fashion Lovers.
The collection is called Cocktail Mountaineering. The collection is a tribute to the men and women who have lives in the county dominated by mountains, fjords glaciers and valleys. The collection consists of three parts: the Moods of Norway Woman’s collection, the Moods of Norway Men’s collection, and the Moods of Norway Cocktail Sports collection. The brand even has a shoe collection male / female that ranges from street wear to italian cocktail wear.
Moods of Norway, what can I say.. They must have done something right to be part of a case study at Harvard Business School. Moods of Noway are great storytellers, and we want to listen to them. The brand sells not only clothes but a fun exciting universe where business plans are written on napkins in a bar on the other side of the world. In this universe there’s bright pink limousines, cocktails, and colorful suites mixed with traditional Norwegian culture. For many aspiring entrepreneurs Moods has become a great inspiration and the example that it is possible to “make it ” in fashion.

Line of Oslo AW 12/13 – Day 3
Hello Fashion Lovers.
Not every fashion show has ice and snow on the catwalk but this one sure did.
I have never had front row so close to the catwalk, it was a dream to take pictures. My favorite look from the collection is the first picture, fake fur, and star print.
You can read more about the collection “Nordic Hope” backstage here or here.
