OFW

FACTS

- OFW was first held in February 2004, and is arranged twice a year, in February and August.
- It was launched to promote Norwegian fashion design, and to set Norwegian design in an international context.
- OFW is the main showcase promoting Norwegian designers and their collections.

OFW MILESTONES

- OFW Fashion Cares: a fashion show focusing on a humanitarian cause.
- NICE: Nordic Initiative Clean and Ethical, is the result of an initiative OFW took. Tone S. Tobiasson coined the name and is today the coordinator for Norway’s contributions and projects, along with being editor for www.nicefashion.org.
- OFW Prizes was launched in August 2008. HRH Crown Princess Mette Marit of Norway was the first recipient of the award for best Ambassador for Norwegian Fashion Design.
- NFA: Nordic Fashion Association, OFW was among the founders of a Nordic collaboration in 2008.

OFW HAS CONTRIBUTED IN THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES RECENT YEARS:

- Nordic Look in Riga, November 2008.
- Runway production during Copenhagen Fashion Week for Batlak og Selvig, August 2009.
- NICE Fashion Summit in Copenhagen alongside The UN’s Climate Conference COP15, December 2009.
- OFW has arranged several lectures, seminars, workshops and debates on academic and public issues relating to the Norwegian fashion industry, both nationally and internationally.
- Served as a consultant for Norwegian designers and for the press on Norwegian design since 2004.
